5 Energizing Teas to Jumpstart Your Morning

I don’t think there’s anyone out there who doesn’t need a little help starting their day. (And if there is, can you give me your secrets PLEASE?) A lot of people rely on coffee, some rely on 10 hours of sleep. If you can’t have either of those options, or are trying to cut down on your coffee intake, tea may be your answer! What is “hygge”?

This white pillow on a simple chair is the epitome of hygge

Although “hygge” (pronounced hue-guh) was named Collins English Dictionary’s runnerup word of 2016, you may not have heard of it. Hygge is a Danish word that means a feeling of comfort or coziness. It’s about realizing your feelings in the moment and creating peace. That could mean peace with your friends, your family, or your house.

What I’m Listening To This Week

Hi all, it’s been a busy busy week between working on some really cool secret blog stuff (maybe a giveaway? wink wink) and running around for my job. Luckily, the weather has been getting freakishly warm here in Indiana, so it’s put me in a listening-to-music-with-the-windows-down mood. Everything is a little bit brighter and happier recently, but I think going from 20 degree weather to 50 degree weather in February would make anybody smile. 🙂 We also just signed to move into a beautiful new apartment when our current lease is up! So in May look forward to plenty of pics on Insta (find me at @thegracefulgeekinsta) of all the farmers markets and hikes we’ll be going on!

This $4 Face Mask Will Blow You Away

Freeman Face Masks: Mint & Lemon, Dead Sea Clay, and Apple Cider Vinegar

Can a Face Mask Make You Jump for Joy?

TBH, if you don’t have a go-to face mask that makes you feel like everything is right in the world, you need to read this. Many moons ago, I discovered a little gem browsing through the aisles at Ulta. The words “deep pore cleansing” and “oily skin” jumped out at me. I’ve struggled with acne and oily skin for a long time and have only recently started getting the tools I need to make my skin feel great.

Freeman Face Masks: Mint & Lemon, Dead Sea Clay, and Apple Cider Vinegar
Just a few of the masks I have. (My Mint & Lemon is obviously well-loved, this is my second tube even!)

How to Get eBooks for Free (Legally!)

An e-reader sitting with coffee and glasses

Free eBooks?

My mom has taught me more than I can ever list, but it seems like all the most important lessons she has taught me are about saving money. She’s a huge reader, and when she got her first e-reader, she naturally turned to her favorite place to get books–the library. What you may not know is that your local library probably has a method of checking out ebooks directly from your device, whether it be a kindle, nook, iPad, iPhone, Android tablet, or even your desktop or laptop. Even smaller cities are partnering with apps like Overdrive to offer digital borrowing to their patrons. Read more
